Product Engineer
Position Description:
The Product Engineer will be responsible for developing composites engineered products, systems and solutions. The role is responsible for supporting one of a few platforms or product categories, and is responsible for new product development in Mobile Solutions, Aerodynamic Products and Composite
Panels/Custom Solutions. This position will develop and design new products & derivatives from conception to launch. Additionally, the product engineer will support and maintain current products to address continuous improvement in quality, durability, cost and performance. This role will be required to work cross-functionally with other business areas including Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
This position will also be accountable for project management and documentation, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in parallel to enable rapid development of new design concepts. Candidate will also provide proactive and collaborative technical leadership, with ability to think creatively, and successfully implement product development projects. Through experience and multiple successes in the Wabash Composites Group, this role has potential growth and rotation opportunities into areas of technical expertise, multiple product domains, program management, mentorship, team leadership or management.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
New product development as well as current product maintenance/upgrade
Assists with 3rd party partnerships, suppliers and certifications
Develops and tests prototypes for new product ideas
Develops/Modifies product specifications
Develops quality designs and makes trade-offs based on data and solid engineering analysis
Effective utilization of design/analytical tools and discipline to design to customer Critical-to-Quality (CTQ's) including CFD, DFMEA, DFSS, FEA modeling, DOE's, DFA, DFM, etc.
Creates and maintains project development plans
Creates and executes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Identifies and executes cost out projects to drive Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE)
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Education Requirements: Bachelor's Degree
College Degree Major Desired: Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Degree; Master's
Degree is a plus
Knowledge and/or training courses specific for this position:

3D Modeling Experience (preferably in SolidWorks)
Project Planning and Management
Mechanics of Materials
Materials and Manufacturing Process Awareness

years product engineering experience - product development, design and release
Experience working in an industrial, rapid response build-to-order business environment preferred

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
