Part-Time Engineering Administrative Assistant/Front Office Receptionist LOCATION:
Lafayette Engineering Department HOURS:
Monday through Friday - up to 29.
5 hours a week SALARY:
$16-$18 an hour depending on experience DUTIES:
Answering and directing phone calls for the Engineering Department.
Communicating with contractors and the general public at our counter.
Opening and processing the mail to our department.
Entering inspections, applications for permits, bonds & insurance and other data entry duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED.
Strong customer service and data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy, experience with Microsoft Office programs, Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing while maintaining confidentiality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor environment, business casual attire.
Primary functions require working in an office environment with the ability to work well alone under minimal supervision, and with others in a team environment; The City of Lafayette is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
