Utilities Repair Technician (US Citizen) - Lafayette, IN with Security Clearance
Job Description:
Mechanically troubleshoot and repair complex domestic and foreign machines and related equipment that perform assembly, torque, and material movement functions in the assembly areas.
Applicant must possess the ability to troubleshoot and repair the following types of machines and components:
mechanical repairs to utilities, test cells, building and grounds, pump rebuilds, HVAC, boiler operation and assembly maintenance.
Seeking a team-oriented individual with a positive attitude, possesses a good work ethic that demonstrates personal initiative and self-motivation.
This solicitation is not for a Utilities apprenticeship program.
This job requires a minimum of 5 years of Industrial utilities and repair experience.
Not residential, this is an industrial utilities position.
Applicants must have successfully completed an approved HVAC training program and possess practical experience in the HVAC field.
Extensive experience in the mechanical and/or electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment is helpful.
Applicant must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Applicant must be willing to work large amounts of overtime opportunities to support production demands.

Example of related equipment:
Boiler operation, pumps, P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, torque tools, washers, ABB robots, paint booth, Test Cells.
Possess the ability to install, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, precision bearings, HVAC, and a variety of other controllers on the machines in the assembly areas.
Applicant should have a thorough understanding of leveling and alignment of machines, alignment of shafts, gearing, welding, lubrication principles, pipefitting, and tube bending.
A background with the ability to troubleshoot and repair large scale dynamometers will be helpful.
Applicant must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic systems which may include but not be limited to compressors, valves, etc.
Applicant should have proven boiler operator experience.
Applicant must be able to read and understand mechanical prints and possess basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
Applicant must possess basic welding and cutting skills and the ability to operate basic tools to complete the utilities controller job.
Applicant must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces and must be willing to work large amounts of overtime opportunities to support production demands.
A background with ABB robots will be helpful.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.
Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8
hours.
All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.
Some positions require the ability to perform tasks on a moving conveyor under time constraints.
Must be able to work in heights and confirmed spaces.
