Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Project Team Leader! As a Valvetrain Senior Engineering Project Team Leader, you will be responsible for representing the valvetrain team for specific engine platforms and projects.
Your team leader responsibilities will account for up to 80% of your time.
The remaining 20%, as an individual contributor, you will be bringing your technical expertise to our projects.
As a team leader, you will be challenged to enhance the team's creativity, inspire action through clear communication of project requirements and the que's given verbally and non-verbally from the project partners, and capitalize on the team's ability collaborate and cooperate to deliver exceptional value to our customers.
As an individual contributor, you must be willing to manage your own development, continuously learning through experiences in new business knowledge, skill, and application.
Your personal leadership style, organizational skills, and project/program management skills will be critical to your success in this role.
Keep in mind, you will be setting the strategy at a project level and solving problems for one or more technology, component, product, or process.
This means you must be a good networker to obtain the resources and cooperation necessary to remove the roadblocks preventing the success of the team.
You will be the spokesperson for the team in meetings with multiple levels of management and our customers.
What you will do:
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Source Introduction (NSI) projects Focus on and communicate both the technical challenges and the business/financial aspects of the project Represent Valvetrain Components Engineering Organization to internal partners in platform, purchasing, operations, etc Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units Driving focus, priority, and urgency when needed with the team? Mentor, coach and develop others What you must have:
Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum AND 8
years of relevant experience Demonstrated initiative and self-starting of tasks/projects Engine system or component design experience Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret structural and dynamic analysis Top candidates will also have:
Very good communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills Valvetrain, fuel system and/or hydraulics design background High temperature materials experience (fatigue life, wear, etc.
) Understanding of wear (tribology) and fatigue life Validation testing definition experience using FMEA and DVP&R methods Engine performance and component testing experience Engine platform and customer application understanding APQP, PPAP and design release experience What you will get:
