Responsible for monitoring both fixed route and demand response modes in accordance with Corporation policies and the collective bargaining agreement.

Monitor both fixed route and demand response modes to ensure and promote safety, efficacy, and customer service best practices.
Implement the daily schedule and cover all same day open work assignments as they become available throughout the service day in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
Utilize specialized software applications to monitor, direct, investigate, and maintain transit service levels and demand.
Monitors and assists operators with time points, road calls, emergencies, transfers, accidents, equipment checks, deviations, detours, schedule changes and other similar procedures.
Reassign available operators in the event of bad weather, accidents, bus break down, route delay, or other situation to maintain uninterrupted service.
Controls radio communicates in a professional manner providing operators and staff assistance, guidance, and instructions.
Provides prompt and friendly customer service via telephone regarding route, scheduling, and booking information.
Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and approving daily schedule variances for all operators.
Generates, interprets, and utilizes automated and specialized reports to accomplish service delivery goals.
Opens and closes the facility and coordinates with maintenance for the necessary equipment to operate the prescribed transit services.
Reports on operators who violate Corporation policies or procedures for possible corrective action.
Issues disciplinary notices to operators as needed.
Assists with complaint investigations as needed to promote outstanding customer experience.
Proactively works to support and promote workplace and operational safety best practices in order to reduce risk associated with service delivery.
Assists in cultivating a culture of safety within the department.
High school diploma or G.
E.
D required; Some college coursework in Business Management or a related field preferred.
Experience directing operators in a transit or similar environment highly desirable.
Knowledge of practices and procedures of dispatching applicable to both fixed route and demand response transit services highly desirable.
Must have excellent English oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with a wide variety of personalities in a consistently professional manner.
Perform as an effective team player.
Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with all customers.
Respond to all customers with respect and empathy.
Ability to attend to, memorize and retain details while work on multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions.
Must be capable of learning numerous computer software programs as needed.
Ability to prioritize and independently address and correct disruptions, errors, issues, and problems as they arise.
Ability to understand and apply terms and conditions of Corporation policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
Must meet criminal background check standards established by the Corporation.
This is a safety sensitive position and must participate in ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
