This person will also be responsible for ensuring the stewarding of such resources.
The Director of Development is a liaison between the affiliate and its donors, volunteers, local churches and foundations.
This person will also be responsible for hospitality initiatives in the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities ? Secure funding for builds and the Habitat core mission ? Work with a team to write and secure grants for the organization.
? Work with a team to generate quarterly newsletters for the purpose of informing the community of ongoing Habitat projects and funding.
? Identify potential new donors and sponsor groups in Lafayette and surrounding counties ? Meet with new and existing donors; match donor passion with project opportunities ? Work with the development team on a fundraising plan for the organization.
? Identify and attend speaking engagements to solicit new resources ? Maintain and build relationships with businesses in Lafayette area ? Liaison for Habitat Lafayette fundraising events ? Assist in fundraising event preparation, publicity, and execution of fundraising events ? Assist with build schedule and funding plan for the year in partnership with Executive Director and Vice President of Development ? Document organization history, events, pictures, and stories ? Assist with house blessings, wall raisings, ceremony planning, etc.
Skills & Qualifications Passion for Christian-based ministry and servant leadership Experience in development/fundraising Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize tasks Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking Basic computer skills Ability and willingness to make phone calls and in-person visits to external contacts Ability to sit in an office setting and complete computer work Willingness to work weekend or evening hours (after 5 pm) frequently The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
