Manufacturing Project Engineer 1 - AssemblyJob Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Develop project proposals by creating cost estimates, technical specifications, identifying and qualifying suppliers, soliciting bids from qualified suppliers, performing project site audits, developing technical evaluations, and work area layouts.
Manage capital projects from concept to implementation for new processes, assembly, test, machine lines, & tooling, etc.
for assigned area.
Provide capital forecasting correlation and reporting as it relates to NPI, capacity increases, equipment and/or systems replacement, and methods and/or process improvement.
Prepare feasibility studies for appropriateness and cost effectiveness and submit recommendations accordingly.
Perform analysis and utilize simulation technology to provide recommendations to implement cost reductions, make safety and quality improvements related to material costs, ergonomics, work area layouts, process, and method improvements.
Evaluate projects to define desired results and determine logical approaches.
Factors evaluated will include cost, personnel, usage, equipment and systems, and space as well as any other information needed to determine requirements.
Contribute to effective management decisions in determining most efficient processes, methods, equipment, tools, systems, and services necessary for the most effective assembly of product.
Support IT system network initiatives needed to integrate computer software, production equipment, & maintain uptime & productivity.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline
5 years of relevant experience OR 10 years of Caterpillar manufacturing experienceProficiency with MS Office; MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPointAbility to design, evaluate, and modify fixtures/tooling for manufacturingCan establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrentlyWorking knowledge of FMEA's, SPC, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Error Proofing, and Root Cause AnalysisCapital project leadership experience of large-scale projects and/or value stream implementations of multiple coordinated projectsExperience collaborating with purchasing and managing supplier performanceDemonstrated process adherence to New Capital Introduction processes through all phasesProject Management Experience of complex multi-disciplinary projects lasting > 1 yearData analysis utilizing Power BI, Tableau or similar toolsTop Candidates will also have:
Proficiency with Computer-aided design software such as Creo and AutoCad5
years' progressive project and/or process improvement experienceBusiness acumen sufficient to develop business investment proposals and justification.
Experience with discrete even simulation usage for process designDemonstrate excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical skillsAdditional Information:
