Job Description:
Opportunity to grow cardiology knowledge and expertise through learning electrophysiology of the heart.
Provides general patient care to cardiac catheterization patients, setting up and running equipment, and performing basic cardiac catheterization procedures.
As a cardiac interventional radiographer, you'll assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to help diagnose and treat heart and blood vessel diseases without surgery.
In this challenging role, you'll work with sophisticated fluoroscopic equipment to take images of the heart and the blood vessels surrounding it.
Qualifications/Skills o Basic Life Support certification required.
May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
o Requires high school graduate or equivalent.
o Requires post high school course work in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
o Additional college coursework in health care; biological sciences or related disciplines is preferred.
o Requires a knowledge of various cardiac catheterization procedures (over 15) and related equipment and instruments.
o Requires knowledge of scrubbing and circulating techniques in order to actively assist with cardiac catheterization procedures.
o Requires knowledge and operation of respiratory, EKG equipment and basic knowledge of cardiac and emergency procedures.
o Requires health care experience which involves direct patient care; noninvasive cardiovascular service or directly related technical patient care experience; additional cardiovascular experience preferred.
